Wisteria Floribunda. Japanese Wisteria. 7ft+ Spiral Stem Umbrella Tree. 

The Wisteria Floribuna is one of the most spectacular and graceful climbing vines, fast growing and extremely hardy. Large( the largest of all the species) clusters of cascading fragrant showy flowers up to 46cm long in colours of lilac, pink or white appear in spring at the same time as the leaves begin to develop giving a dramatic display. Alternate leaves are dark green and pinnate between 4-10 inches long. The vines can have the occasionally bloom through summer too.

These large Wisteria Vines are mature and are flowering each year. Having ornate spiral stems and supported by an umbrella frame makes these beautiful climbing vines a stunning addition to any space in courtyards and city gardens as well as making great container plants for patios, conservatories and greenhouses.

    Common Name: Japanese Wisteria.

    Origin: Japan. 

    Hardiness: -15 degrees or lower.

    Growth Characteristics: Fast growing evergreen climber. Climbs anticlockwise. Deciduous. Cascading clusters up to 46cm long of fragrant white, pale lilac or pink flowers are produced at the same time as the leaves appear in Spring. Dark green pinnate leaves. Easy to grow. Harmful if ingested.

    Pruning: Prune twice a year, July/August and Jan/Feb. 

    Sunlight: Full sun/partial sun. Thrives in full sun.

    Exposure: Sheltered. 

    Soil: Tolerates poor quality soil but prefers well drained soil.

    Moisture: Water regularly through summer, less in winter.
