WASHINGTONIA FILIFERA

The Washingtonia Filifera is a stylish and elegant palm. It is a fast growing variety which doesn't take long to establish itself and looks fantastic even when young.
Large, green-grey, tropical looking fan- shaped leaves, split about half the blade into numerous segments, crown a sturdy trunk ringed with old leaf scars. Curly thread-like filaments between the leaflets give it it's common name of the Cotton Palm. Salt tolerant it is great for coastal gardens.
Hardy down to -5/6 degrees it prefers a sheltered spot. As the plant matures it will become hardier, but younger plants will require protection in severe winters.

Similar to the Washingtonia Robusta, it's a stunning addition to any garden at a relatively cheap cost.
