Puya Castellanosii. Bromeliad.
The Puya Castellanosii is an amazing plant and rarely available. A compact rosette of very long narrow, tapering leaves are silvery-blue in colour with brown inward pointing spines along their margins. In spring, when mature enough, striking whitish-blue tubular flowers are held above the rosettes on an upright branched flower stalk that are a deep rich pinky-purple colour. This very exotic plant will eventually form offsets and reach a height of around 2m. Definately one for the collectors this unique plant is great for large containers, coastal gardens, exotic gardens and city gardens alike, it's striking silhouette making it a wonderful architectural addition.Listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List.
Will need protection in severe winters.
