Platycerium Bifurcatum. Staghorn Fern.
The Platycerium Bifurcatum is an epiphytic fern in the wild, meaning in habitat they grow in trees or on rocks, getting their nutrients from the air or dead leaves and other debris collected in the cracks or crevasses. As a Houseplant it can be a really striking hanging plant. It comprises of two types of leaves; at the base there are broad heart shaped fronds which only curve slightly and emerge a bright green colour but turn brown as they mature, these are sterile. Growing from the base are the fertile leaves, deeply lobed like antlers, grey-green in colour which arch beautifully reaching up to one meter long in length.

A vigorous grower and very on trend, perfect for providing a dramatic accent to your house or office.
