The Phoenix Theophrasti or Cretan Date Palm is a very architectural looking palm compact in appearance. A solitary trunked palm which can be become suckering( form multiple trunks) at it's base as it matures. It's spiky pinnate leaves are silvery-green which elegantly arch. It is easy to grow and is highly tolerant of salt, so perfect for coastal gardens.
Cold and damp tolerant it is also the hardiest of the date palms and given well drained soil, it will provide a stunning centrepiece for your garden.
