The Mahonia 'Soft Caress' is a exotic looking evergreen shrub. It is compact plant only reaching to around 1.2m with very decorative soft fern-like blue-green folliage with spine free leaflets( most Mahonia are prickly, but not this one). Delicate spikes of yellow fragrant flower are produced in Autumn and early winter followed by blue-black berries. Easy to grow it does well in shady borders and its compact form and tolerance of urban pollution makes it perfect as a patio plant.
