Harrisia Tetrancantha Cactus. Moonlight Cactus.
The Harrisia Tetracantha Cactus is an unusual shrubby variety of cactus which branches from the base. This perennial evergreen succulent only reaches heights of around 3m in it's native habitat. The cylindrical stems have 7-9 ribs with whitish coloured velvety areoles, housing 1 and occasionally 2 stout central spines around 3cm long and 4-7 radial ones which are 1-2cm long. The new growth has golden spines turning grey as they age.

Large nocturnal flowers are white with a green throat and are semi-funnel shaped, followed by oval shaped fruit covered in small spines.
