Grape Vines. Vitis vinifera 'Pizzutello Nero'.
The 'Pizzutello Nero' variety of grape is a fairly vigorous variety with big clusters of large grapes elongated in shape with slightly pointed ends. Ripening from the end of September the fruit has a red-black skin with wine red coloured flesh which is crisp, sweet and very juicy and flavourful with relatively few seeds. The foliage is lobed and is a fresh green through Spring and Summer before turning to a mix of vibrant oranges, reds and purples in Autumn. Easy to grow this good cropper is also self fertile.
Grape vines instantly bring a piece of the Mediterranean to your garden. Grown in a sunny, sheltered position they will produce bountiful crops of delicious sweet fruits even in the UK.
Perfect as an alternative to conventional climbers, grape vines are much easier to grow than you may think and are also quite happy in containers if space is limited.
Caring for your Grape vine is easy, remember they are a fruit tree so they will need feeding. Feed with tomato feed every 2 weeks from a month after growth starts in spring through the growing season until the grapes start to ripen.
