Ferocactus Glaucescens Cactus. Glaucous Barrel Cactus.
The Ferocactus Glaucescens var Inermis is the spineless version or Ferocactus Glaucescens. It is a very attractive Cactus a striking bluish-green in colour. Slow growing, it is more barrel shaped when young becoming more columnar as it matures. It can be solitary but quite often as the plant ages multiple new heads can be produced at the base forming a large mound. There are 11-15 prominent acute ribs with spines present in young plants but these disappear as it matures. Lemon-yellow coloured funnel shaped flowers are about 3-4cm in diameter lasting for quite a time, followed by white coloured fruit. This really is a striking cactus and perfect for Cacti enthusiasts.
