Fargesia Rufa. Fountain Bamboo.
Fargesia Rufa or Fountain Bamboo is a very graceful and attractive bamboo. Hardy down to -15 degrees and a non-evasive clump forming variety. It has many slender upright arching canes with masses of delicate lush green leaves. Early in the season the new canes appear bright green from the culm sheaths which are a contrasting orange-pink colour. Average to fast growing reaching an eventual height of around 3m they are great for providing both a visual and sound barrier in the shape of a hedge. Alternatively they look spectacular as a single specimen plant in a smaller garden.

Common Name: Fountain Bamboo, Chinese Fountain Bamboo, Dragon Head Bamboo.
Origin: Western China.
Hardiness: Hardy down to -15.
Growth Characteristics: Very pretty evergreen bamboo. Slender canes with masses of delicate lush green feathery leaves. Non evasive clump forming variety.
Sunlight: Full sun/partial shade.
Soil: Any. Well drained
Moisture: Keep moist but avoid water- logging.
