Dicksonia Squarrosa Tree Ferns.New Zealand Tree Ferns.
The Dicksonia Squarrosa Tree Fern also known as the Wheki is an amazing plant native to Northern New Zealand. A very elegant fern it has a slender dark brown almost black fibrous trunk topped by a rosette of lush deep green leaves which bear red-brown hairs on their midribs. Faster growing than the Dicksonia Antarctica it will also re-sprout from the aerial roots located on the trunk if the main growing crown is damaged for any reason.
It prefers a shady spot spot, but if planted in a sunny position, it will need more water. It is not fully hardy in the UK and it is advisable to keep above minus 2 degrees so it will need to be brought into a frost free position during the winter months.
Not many plants can match the elegance of this Tree Fern. With it being hard to find for sale over the last few years it is definitely a great one for the collectors. These tree ferns are exceptional and the very best quality available anywhere. We are able to transport tree ferns complete with Fronds if they have them at time of delivery.
Please Note: Height stated is trunk height without the fronds. These tree ferns are also pot grown so the overall height will be taller than just the trunk height.
Click into the "Height" box and price of each fern is shown next to its size. UK delivery is FREE on all our palms, plants and trees.
