The Citrus Sinensis 'Moro', tree is the most highly coloured and intensley flavoured of all the Blood Orange varieties. It produces thin skinned medium to large sized fruit with a dark orange rind which often has a red blush. Nearly seedless, the higly flavoured flesh is sweet with a refreshing tang and in addition to the usual citrus orange flavour, hints of raspberry and cherry are present. The deeper the flesh colour the stronger these flavours are, but climate and growing conditions do have a contributing factor to this. The 'Moro' Orange is an excellent source of Vitamin C but also contains the red pigment anthocyanin which is a powerful antioxidant
Perfect as an ornamental too, glossy dark green foliage, thornless, beautifully scented white flowers and tasty fruit year after year. A very pretty and compact tree, great for growing in containers on a patio as well as your garden.Citrus trees instantly bring a piece of the Mediterranean to your garden. Native: Italy.
Hardiness: Hardy down to -5 degrees but will need protection during prolonged cold.
Growth: Evergreen ornamental fruit tree with glossy green leaves and delicious tender fruit, sweet with a tang. Thin deep orange rind often has a red blush. Very productive tree. Flesh is the darkesk red in colour of all the blood oranges. Full of Vitamin C and antioxidants. Nearly seedless. Easy to grow.

Soil: Well drained.
Moisture: Water well in summer.
Feeding: Feed every week through the growing season with a balanced fertilizer such as Citrus Focus.
