The Blechnum Tabulare Fern also known as the Table Mountain Fern is a stunning plant and a perfect addition to providing a tropical look for an area prone to shade for much of the day.
Not a true Tree Fern although it will develop a trunk as it matures. Large green pinnate fronds are strong and leathery, reaching up to 1m with new ferns forming around the base. These ferns also make a stunning pot plant.

Latin Name: Blechnum Tabulare.
Common Name: Table Mountain Tree Fern.
Origin: Africa. Madagascar. Australia. Falkland Islands. West Indies.
Hardiness: -5 degrees or lower. Mulch each winter.
Growth: Leathery pinnate green fronds grow up to 1m when mature. Will develop a trunk. New ferns will grow around the base. Mulch in winter. May suffer dieback in winter but usually new fronds will grow in spring out of the old trunk.
Sun: Full Shade/Partial shade.
Soil: requires good drainage.
Moisture: Water regularly. Keep moist.
