It is a popular houseplant and great for providing a focal point in either office or home. Easy to care for, liking bright indirect light and non toxic to pets. It has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Common Name: Areca Palm, Golden Cane Palm, Yellow Palm, Butterfly Palm, Bamboo Palm.
Native: Madagascar and South India
Hardiness: Frost tender. Indoor Palm.
Growth: Large glossy green feathery fronds on upright slender cane-like trunks. Non toxic. Air purifyer. Slow growing, evergreen. Easy to grow.
Sun: Bright indirect light.
Soil: Fast draining.
Moisture: Water regularly in growing season, but allow to dry a little before waterings. Less in winter. Mist leaves regularly.
Feeding: Feed once every month in growing season.
