The Alocasia 'Portodora' is a very impressive and imposing Alocasia. Gigantic lush green leaves are heavilly scalloped and stand upright on strong purple coloured stems. Growing in large clumps it can reach between 6-8ft tall. Fast growing this spectacular foliage provides a wonderful tropical effect in any garden. Great for growing in containers and placing into a border through summer to give it a tropical look and then moving indoors through winter. Alternatively their spectacular foliage makes them a striking houseplant.

Common Name: Upright Elephant Ear, Elephant ear 'Portodora'. Alocasia Portidora.
Origin: Southeast Asia.
Hardiness: Frost tender.
Growth Characteristics: Very stylish and impressive rhizomatous evergreen perennial. Huge exotic looking leaves. Grows to between 6-8ft tall. If keeping as a houseplant, stand on a layer of pebbeles. May cause stomach upset if ingested.
Sunlight: Full sun/partial shade.
Exposure: Shelter from wind to prevent leaf shredding.
Soil: Rich fertile soil moisture retentive soil.
Moisture: Keep moist to wet through summer. Reduce watering in winter.
Feeding: Feed regularly in summer.
