Agaves are amazing exotic, drought tolerant plants. Native to Mexico and the North, Central and South of the United States, they are a very popular ornamental plants in the UK. The Agave 'Silver Sword' is a strikingley beautiful evergreen perennial succulent, extremely hardy down to around -18 degrees.Characterized usually by a large rosette of thick silver-grey, triangular broad lance-like leaves which have beautiful pronounced patterns on their surfaces. They typically have dark brown marginal spines and a sharp terminal point, so probably better to plant them away from walkways.
Great for coastal gardens, exotic gardens and city gardens alike, it's bold silhouette makes a wonderful architectural centrepiece
