Agave Pedunculifera. Durango Soft Agave.
The Agave Pedunculifera is a striking and relatively fast growing Agave which is easy to grow. Large rosettes of soft fleshy broad leaves are bluish green in colour recurving elegantly back, making up large rossettes up to 4ft wide. Very similar in appearance to the Agave Attenuata but there are a few differences. The Agave Pedunculifera is more upright in form and only forms a trunk with much age. It also has small soft teeth along the leaf margins and a soft terminal point. It's inflorescence is more robust and does not curve over and bears flowers orange yellow rather than greenish yellow.
Great for modern and minimalistic gardens, it's bold silhouette makes a wonderful architectural centrepiece. Mostly solitary.
