The Agave parrasana 'Meat Claw' is a very showy agave and makes a wonderful and attractive architectural centrepiece. Wide, fleshy upright leaves, are a striking frosty grey-blue in colour forming compact symmetrical rosettes. The rough textured leaves have scalloped edges with beautiful and unique imprinted patterns on their surfaces left by the teeth of the following leaves. The marginal teeth themselves are hook-like being bright red-orange when young, but mature to a silver-grey.
Be mindful of where to plant as each leaf also has a stout sharp terminal point.
Easy to grow but slow, great for exotic gardens.

Common Name: Meat Claw Hardy Century Plant.
Native to: Mexico.
Hardiness: Hardy to around -10 degrees if kept dry in Winter and extremely drought tolerant.
Growth: Succulent with rosettes of compact upright frosty grey-bluei, fleshy leaves, with beautiful pronounced patterns on their surfaces. Scalloped leaf margins have hooked teeth red-orange when young aging to silver-grey. Terminal spine is present. Leaves are rough textuerd. Easy to grow.
Sun: Full sun/tolerates partial shade.
Soil: Well drained, plenty of gravel.
Moisture: Water in growing season. Dry in winter.
