Agave Attenuata. Foxtail Agave.
The Agave Attenuata is a relatively fast growing Agave and easy to grow. Rosettes of silvery pale green fleshy leaves curve elegantly at their tip and sit on top of a thick grey green stem which can reach a height of up to 5ft when really mature. Unusually for an Agave the leaves are spineless and lack a terminal spine too.Known also as the Foxtail Agave because of the tall dense racemes of greenish yellow bell shaped flowers which arch over, because of the weight of them.
Great for modern and minimalistic gardens, it's bold silhouette makes a wonderful architectural centrepiece. Offsets easily.Agaves are amazing exotic, drought tolerant plants. Native to Mexico and the North, Central and South of the United States, they are a very popular ornamental plants in the UK.

Common Name: Foxtail Agave. Spineless Agave. Swan's Neck Agave.
Native to: Mexico.
Hardiness: Frost tender. Can be grown outside through Spring and Summer but brought into a frost free position for Winter.
Growth: Perennial evergreen succulent with a rosette of silvery pale green, fleshy leaves which curve gracefully at the tip. Spineless leaf margins and no terminal spine. Grey green trunk. Tall spikes full of flowers which arch because of the weight of them when mature.
Sun: Sun/partial shade.
Exposure: Sheltered.
Soil: Well drained, plenty of gravel.
Moisture: Dry in winter
