Semiarundinaria Yashadake 'Kimmei' Bamboo.
Semiarundinaria Yashadake 'Kimmei' is a very graceful and decorative bamboo. Hardy down to -15 or lower, it's tall, densely packed, smooth yellow canes are striped with green. If grown in a sunny position canes can flush red. The lance shaped leaves are lush green in colour up to 25cm long. Overall great for providing both a visual and a sound barrier in the shape of a hedge as they are quite wind tolerant. Alternatively they look great as a single specimen plant.
Although the Narihira Bamboo is classed as a spreading bamboo in hot climates it usually behaves itself better in the UK climate. A bamboo barrier can be used.

Native to: Japan.
Hardiness: -15 or lower.
Growth Characteristics: Fast growing upright bamboo. Very straight dense smooth yellow canes striped with green. Can flush red if grown in sunny spot. Grows up to 3m tall. Can be pruned. Restrict spreading with a root barrier. Ideal as a hedge/windbreak/screen.
