PEAR TREES. Variety 'Blanquilla'.
The 'Blanquilla' Pear Tree is a very attractive variety of pear producing good regular crops of medium-large fruit. Elongated shaped pears are thin skinned, a matte light green in colour and slightly rough to the touch. A small 'heart' is contained within the white flesh which is full of delicately flavoured sugar sweet juice which releases when a bite is taken giving it a common name of a 'Water Pear'.Flowering in April-May these trees have very attractive fragrant blossom followed by the pears ready to harvest from mid September. Easy to grow, 'Blanquilla'' is not self fertile so a pollination partner will be needed to produce a crop .
