Pachira Aquatica. Money Tree Plant. 6ft tall.

The Pachira Aquatica is grown in the UK as a very ornamental and impressive houseplant. Interwoven stems form a decorative trunk which has a crown of large shiny green palmate leaves composed of 6-9 leaflets. Flowers have long narrow petals which open to reveal hair-like orange stamens. Large woody pods are formed containing edible nuts which taste like peanuts. 

Easy to care for, these attractive trees bring a piece of the jungle indoors. Can also be grown on a  sheltered patio during summer months

    Common Name: Money Tree Plant, Guiana Chestnut, Saba Nut, French Peanut, Malabar Chestnut.

    Origin: Central and South America.

    Hardiness: Frost tender. 

    Growth Characteristics: Evergreen tree. Stems plaited together to for a single trunk. Large shiny green palmate leaves, 6-9 leaflets. Showy flowers.  Easy to care for. 

    Sunlight: Bright indirect light.

    Exposure: Indoor Houseplant 

    Soil: Fertile. Well drained soil.

    Moisture: Water regularly through the growing season, keep moist. Mist through summer.

    Feeding: Feed once a month through summer with a half strength liquid feed.
