Mammillaria Bombysina Cactus. Silken Pincushion Cactus.
Usually a clump forming variety the Mammillaria Bombysina is a cactus where the young specimens are a more rounded shape and more mature plants take on a barrel form. Commonly called the Silken Pincushion Cactus the green stems are densley covered in white bristles and thin glassy white radial spines. The central spines of which there are between 3-8 are hooked downwards and reddish brown in colour. 

Even when young this pretty cactus flowers abundantly and can produce complete circles of deep pink or white flowers near the top of the cactus which are followerd by small whitish fruit. 

It has gained the Award For Garden Merit from the RHS This really is a striking cactus and perfect for Cacti enthusiasts.
