Loropetalum Chinense 'Black Pearl'. Espalier Trees

Loropetalum Chinense 'Black Pearl' is usually a compact evergreen shrub, however it can be trained as an espalier tree. Free flowering, clusters of fragrant spider-like deep rose coloured flowers appear at the ends of the short branches in late winter though into spring, contrasting beautifully against the rich dark green leaves which are themselves flushed with purple.

This eye-catching plant is great for bringing colour to walls and trellises in courtyards and city gardens as well as making great container plants for patios, conservatories and greenhouses. Cold hardy to around -5 degrees or slightly lower winter protection will be necessary in areas prone to prolonged freezes or alternatively bring into a greenhouse.

These plants are exceptional quality from Specialist Growers. Photos 1-4 show some of the espalier trees coming into stock from Spring 2024. Please Note: Heights stated include pot sizes.
