The Ilex  Mutchagara 'Nellie R Stevens' is a cross between Ilex Cornuta and Ilex Aquifolium.

Slow growing it can reach 4-5m in time. Glossy green prickly leaves can be up to 4 inches long and leathery in texture. Insignificant small white-green flowers are followed by a long lasting heavy crop of berries which become bright red around mid November. It is low maintenance, evergreen and hardy throughout the UK.

Grown and trained into an espalier form it gives a striking effect and instant screening all year round . Perfect for leaving in a container, it is equally suited to growing in the open ground.
