Butia Yatay Palm. Yatay Palm
The Butia Yatay or Yatay Palm is a close relative to the Butia Capitata. It can tolerate temperatures down to -8 or below. It's huge arching, grey-blue pinnate fronds gives it a stunning, graceful look. It's single trunk has prominent leave bases remain on the trunk for quite some time, giving it a unique look.
Beautiful long yellow inflorescences and orange fruit which are inedible.
Slow growing it prefers a sheltered position in full sun.  An absolutely beautiful ornamental.
