Bignonia Capensis. Cape Honeysuckle. Tree Form

Bignonia Capensis or Cape Honeysuckle is a species of flowering plant which will bring vibrant colour to your tropical garden. Glossy dark green pinnate leaves with oval shaped leaflets contrast perfectly against masses of beautiful orange-orange/red trumpet shaped showy flowers which are grouped at the ends of the branches at different times throughout the year. The Cape Honeysuckle not only brings dazzling colour but also butterflies and bees and has gained The Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Normally evergreen, but may be decidous in colder areas. Tolerates salty, windy and urban conditions well.  

These plants are in the form of a bushy tree. Gently prune in late winter to keep in shape and promote new growth and flowers.
