Acoelorrhaphe Wrightii. Paurotis Palm
The Acoelorrhaphe Wrightii is a very attractive clustering palm. Several upright slender trunks covered in loose brown fibre are topped with crowns of deeply divided fan shaped leaves, light green on the upper surface and silvery underneath. The petioles are armed with fine orange thorns.

Slow growing, it copes well with wet soils and is moderately salt tolerant, the Paurotis Palm can be found thriving in swamps in the wild. Hardy down to a few degrees this tropical looking palm is great for growing in planters and perfect for greenhouses and bright conservatories.
