Ferocactus Glaucescens Cactus. Glaucous Barrel Cactus.
The Ferocactus Glaucescens is a very attractive Cactus a striking bluish-green in colour. Slow growing and medium sized with barrels up to 50cm in diameter, it can be solitary or as the plant ages multiple new heads can be produced at the base forming a large mound. 11-15 prominent acute ribs are quite fiercely armed with 6-7 long straight light yellow radial spines up to 4cm long. Central spines may not be present but are very similar to the radials if they are. Lemon coloured funnel shaped flowers are about 3-4cm in diameter lasting for quite a time, followed by white coloured fruit. This really is a striking cactus and perfect for Cacti enthusiasts. Very difficult to find for sale at this size in the UK.
